Turquoise is an ancient and important part of Navajo culture and jewelry making craft. After the introduction of silversmithing in the mid nineteenth century the Navajo began to marry their traditional use of turquoise with new metal working techniques. Inlay rings such as this one and other silver and turquoise pieces became synonymous with the Navajo’s jewelry and aesthetic representing a unique fusion of cultures and crafts.
Ring is a size 6 and 1 ¼" long.
