Hanging heart earrings combining the beauty of the Zuni Snake Eye and Petit Point techniques. The turquoise beads radiate from the center of the heart with each stone set into a sterling silver bezel.
Measures approximately 1” long x ½” wide.
Though Native American Tribes had been working with metal for generations, modern silver working techniques were only introduced in the 19th century by artists from Mexico. In the 1870’s, the Navajo shared these techniques with the Zuni, who are thought to be the first to insert turquoise stone into silver settings.
