Oil painting on stretched canvas, with a thin wood frame. Featured painting is one of a kind part of Daren Wilson's 'Inverness Full Moon Study' series. Measures approximately 6.5" x 8.5"
Daren Wilson (b.1979) lives and works in San Francisco. Wilson is an interdisciplinary artist devoted to creating uniquely hushed and consistent bodies of work. While mainly recognized for replicating the still life paintings of Italian artist Giorgio Morandi, the artist's focus has simultaneously been on creating thousands of same-shaped ceramic bud vases, each with its own unique finish. The current Inverness Moon Rise series is an intimate look at one Northern California landscape, with each painting capturing the full moon at various positions in the sky and against the dramatic shift from dusk to dark. Oil on board, or canvas board, vary from 4x5 to 10x12 inches, inviting an intimate encounter with a moody, shape-shifting twilight.
