Once silversmithing was introduced to the Native American Tribes in the mid 19th century, silver jewelry quickly became ubiquitous within the tribes. The practice and tradition of metalwork was often handed down from generation to generation, meaning that the smiths and jewelers were able to develop intricate and unique hand stamping and carving techniques.
