Shino Takeda grew up on Kyusha Island, a Japanese island known for its rich tradition of ceramics. She spent her childhood traveling to art shows and ceramic studies throughout Japan thanks to early exposure from her mother’s collection. Today, she creates handmade functional works of art by combining traditional Japanese forms with the freshness of New York City.
