Though Leana Zuniga’s Electric Feathers is a contemporary clothing line based in Brooklyn, her designs propel the standard definitions of attire into the future through their infinitely versatile and convertible shapes. Rooted in the desire to make clothing suitable and functional for many environments and many seasons but without sacrificing style or comfort, Zuniga’s work explores and pushes the possibilities of traditional silhouettes. Zuniga uses only richly textured and unique natural fabrics, including hand woven cottons and silks, and then processes them with different special hand-dying techniques to create one-of-a-kind pieces in each collection.
