Nugget Stud

Kathleen Whitaker

The gold used to create these studs is a type found in Gold Bearing Quartz. Formed over millions of years, these gold nuggets break loose of quartz in areas common to rock erosion such as rivers, streams, and underground riverbeds and channels. The resulting loose gold fragments vary in size, and the organic shape, finish, color and texture of each specimen is entirely naturally occurring. The purity of this kind of gold ranges from 16 to 23 karat and can also have other mineral content such as silver and copper within it. The nuggets are mounted on 14 karat posts.

Kathleen Whitaker’s namesake line features delicate and minimal jewelry pieces that reference her background as a porcelain ceramicist and her love for modern, sculptural shapes
