Founded in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset in 2009 and growing organically to Los Angeles in 2012, our stores have always been rooted in community — shaped by friends, neighbors, and a shared appreciation for thoughtful, functional design drawn from both contemporary and vintage sources.
Over time, General Store has become a cornerstone of California design culture, representing the craftsmanship, creativity, and warmth that make this place unique.
Today, our Venice shop — a spacious, light-filled space — tends to stay with people, a reminder that beauty and connection live in the details. Inside, you’ll find a curated selection of household objects, jewelry, books, art, objects, clothing, apothecary, and dry goods.
