Return Policies

General Store is not liable for wear and tear on items purchased from third party retailers. Any concerns regarding the condition or quality of such items should be directed to the respected retailer. Our liability is limited to defects arising from manufacturing or our own handling processes.

Web Store Return Policy

All returns must be pre-approved by General Store. Before shipping back your return, send us an email at and let us know which item you are returning. We will issue a return authorization number to be included in your return package.  For clothing and all other items, shipping costs are non-refundable and return shipping fees are the responsibility of the customer. All return packages must be insured.

If you wish to return your purchase, we will gladly issue a store credit or exchange within 14 days of delivery. Items must be returned in new, unused condition with original packaging and tags and with a copy of your packing slip included. We reserve the right to refuse returns that do not match these conditions.  

Online purchases may not be returned or exchanged at either of our brick and mortar locations. 
Clothing Returns
We understand the need to try on clothing. To allow for this, General Store will issue refunds on clothing items that are received back to us within 14 days of delivery in new, unworn condition with original tags. Please follow our online return procedure for clothing returns. *Intimates and swimwear are not eligible for return or exchange*
Apothecary Returns
Due to the nature of these items, all apothecary is final sale. If you have any questions about color or scent of an item, please reach out to to further assist you with your purchase.
Vintage Items
Due to their delicate nature, all of our vintage goods are final sale.
Final Sale Items
All sale items are final sale. All items that are marked as Final Sale are final sale and not eligible for return or exchanges/store credit.
