Saipua Soap

Saipua

Handcrafted olive oil soap produced in small batches by artist and floral designer Sarah Ryhanen on a farm in Upstate New York. All soaps contain saponified oils of olive, coconut, castor oil, shea butter, and essential oils. 6oz bar of soap.

Geranium Rose - An intoxicating and uplifting floral essential oil blend.

Black Soap with Charcoal and Patchouli - Activated charcoal draws out oils from the skin, making this an excellent complexion soap. Scented with an earthy blend of patchouli and lime essential oil.

Sunflower with Calendula (Unscented, no essential oils) - Unscented soap for those who may be sensitive to essential oils. Contains sunflower oils and calendula petals that create a softer soap that's very moisturizing.

Bergamot - A spice blend of bergamot essential oil with clary sage and black pepper oils.

Cedarwood - A take on an all-time classic scent that creates a grounding aroma of warm and woody cedar wood. The benefits of cedar wood oil have been used for centuries to promote vitality and soothe the mind.

Vetiver with French Clay - French green clay works in this soap to gently draw out impurities and tighten the pores. A good facial soap for those with sensitive and oily skin. The essential oil blend focuses on vetiver, a smoky scent, rounded out by the addition of citrus.

Lavender Oatmeal - A classic combination of lavender essential oil and ground oats. Mild and exfoliating soap that is terrific for the face or body.

Coriander Citrus - A bright blend of coriander and citrus essential oils for an awakening and uplifting feel.

Saltwater - An essential oil blend that emits smells of the ocean. Made with salt and nori that creates a creamy and unique lather.

Coffee Mint - Made with coffee ground and peppermint essential oil. Great for removing the smell of garlic or onions from your hands next to the kitchen sink or for an invigorating morning shower.

Saipua began in 2006 in a Brooklyn studio devoted to the dual crafts of flower arranging and soap-making (Saipua is derived from the word for "soap" in Finnish, a nod to founder Sarah Ryhanen's husband's heritage). Ryhanen is an artist and educator who now creates at The Farm at World's End, a residency farm founded in 2011, which has become the headquarters of the Saipua team. The soaps are still mixed and poured by Susan herself, cut by her husband Pentti, and wrapped and packed by members of the World's End Community.
